eng_cef_cofinancing.pngAS “Augstsprieguma tikls” has announced a procurement procedure for design and construction works of the new electricity transmission line in Latvia from Riga condensing heat and power plant (CHP-2) to Riga hydro power plant (HPP). Candidates are welcome to submit their offers by November 24, 2017. The new line is planned to be commissioned until the end of 2020.

Within the framework of the project, it is planned to construct new 330 kV AC electricity transmission line between substations Riga CHP-2 and Riga HPP with approximate length of 13 kilometers. Detailed information about project development and technical characteristics is available here.

The project has been co-funded by the European Union at the amount of 50% from the Connecting Europe Facility fund, with a total EU co-financing € 9.9 million. Riga CHP-2 - Riga HPP transmission line construction is included in the ten-year development plans of the European Union and Latvia, and taking into account the importance of the project in national and regional level, the status of a national interest object has been allocated to project with the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers of Latvia.
