Baltic TSOs notify on the use of market-based allocation of cross zonal capacity for the Baltic Balancing Capacity Market
The Transmission System Operators of the Baltic Capacity Calculation Region (Baltic CCR) expect to take the common Baltic market-based allocation process of cross-zonal capacity for the exchange of automated frequency restoration reserves (aFRR) and manual frequency restoration reserves (mFRR) balancing capacity into use on 4th of February 2024.
The Baltic CCR methodology for market-based allocation of cross zonal capacity (hereinafter, Methodology) developed in accordance with Article 41 of the Regulation of the European Commission (EU) 2017/2195 of November 23, 2017 establishing guidelines for electricity balancing, received approval from the Baltic CCR regulators in September 2023 and is available on the AST website.
