Ilze Znotiņa joins the board team of JSC "Augstsprieguma tīkls"

Strengthening the company's management team, on Friday, January 26th, JSC "Augstsprieguma tīkls" (AST) Council elected Ilze Znotiņa as a member of the board in legal and compliance matters. It is planned that the board member will start her work on February 1st, 2024.

Ilze Znotiņa is the former Director of The Financial Intelligence Unit of Latvia and led Latvia’s delegation to a MONEYVAL – a Committee of Experts on the Evaluation of Anti-Money Laundering Measures and the Financing of Terrorism of the Council of Europe – and Financial Action Task Force (FATF). In her professional work experience, she has successfully worked as a partner of the law firm "Deloitte Legal", representing a wide range of local and international clients. Until now, Ms. Znotiņa has also practiced as a sworn attorney-at-law. She holds a master's degree in international and European Law from Riga Graduate and has completed doctoral studies at the University of Latvia.

" AST has a leading role in the implementation of important investment projects for Latvia's energy independence and energy system reliability. The existing management framework has established a solid foundation for achieving AST's strategic goals, which we will be able to implement with even greater capacity with the addition of Ilze Znotiņa," informs Kaspars Āboliņš, Chairman of the AST Council.

In the open competition, 27 applications were received for the position of AST board member (Legal and compliance direction). The candidate selection process took place in four rounds in accordance with the evaluation criteria approved by the five voting members of the Nomination commission established by the AST Council, and as part of them, the following competencies were evaluated in depth: change management, orientation towards achieving results and development, team management, decision-making and responsibility.

Together with Ilze Znotiņa and the chairman of the board Rolands Irklis, who joined AST from December 7th, 2023, board members Arnis Daugulis, Gatis Junghāns and Imants Zviedris continue to work in the management team.
