As Olga Bogdanova concludes her term as Chairperson of the Supervisory Board of AS Augstsprieguma tīkls (AST), the company's shareholder, the Ministry of Climate and Energy, will organise an open competition for the third Supervisory Board member position. To ensure continuity of the Supervisory Board's work during the selection process, Andris Ķēniņš, Director General of the State Environmental Service, has been appointed as an interim Supervisory Board member.

The shareholder of AST has appointed Andris Ķēniņš as an interim member of the Supervisory Board from 25 August 2026 until a new Supervisory Board member is appointed through the competition for a full term of office, but no later than 24 August 2027.

The current Chairperson of the AST Supervisory Board, Olga Bogdanova, will perform her duties until 24 August 2026.

At the same time, the open competition organised by the State Chancellery and the Ministry of Climate and Energy for two AST Supervisory Board member positions is currently nearing completion. A separate open competition will be launched for the third Supervisory Board member position.

In accordance with Cabinet of Ministers regulations*, the members of a state-owned capital company’s Supervisory Board must collectively possess expertise in such areas as finance and auditing, risk management and internal control systems, strategy development and implementation, corporate governance, company and team management, stakeholder management, as well as an understanding of and knowledge of the energy sector.

As previously reported, in accordance with the Articles of Association, AST’s Supervisory Board has operated with three members since 2025. Vacancies are filled through open competitions to ensure a combination of competencies aligned with the company’s strategic objectives and sustainable governance.

Following the completion of both competitions and the approval of the new composition of the Supervisory Board, the Supervisory Board will elect its Chairperson from among its members in accordance with applicable laws and regulations and the company’s governance principles.

From 25 August 2026, AST’s Supervisory Board will continue to operate with two members: Juris Zīvarts and Andris Ķēniņš.
